Hier komt mijn Bottom-up benadering vandaan.

What is your value stream?

What is your value stream?

Hi fellow networkers through out the world (and the UK wink )
Reading through the forums and blogs I found a common thing that bonds us all here. We all seem to value the Ecademy network in our own way. Our value stream sort of speak....
For example:
There are people here willing to share knowledge by blogging about it and there are people strictly for their business, also we see a lot of "wanting to change the world" type of persons.
To keep a long story short, they (we) are all having our value stream in a way here.

My stream is to get to know people around the world in a social/business kind of way. Personally I have not done business (making money, doing deals) with anyone from Ecademy just yet, but I think that is because my target group (Small and medium size businesses 5 till 250 employees) is not (yet) here on Ecademy for the Netherlands.

Babysit: I want to have one of those ;-)

Have Fun!

Do you get it? It is: Win win win, or as we call it: triplewins

We often spoke about it, talked it through but somehow people are still not understanding how a triple win works.
We all could benefit from a triple win, and that is the simplicity about it.

Well, for me the noble task to explain it for you with an (recent) example.
Here we go:

I was looking for funding to help a friend in need (read the full story HERE)
After some bypass routes taken I found funding for him. So there is the FIRST WIN for the person who arranged the funding (he makes a profit by the interest on his money) , my friend can go on with his business, so there you have the SECOND WIN.
I participate in his company for a small bit from a different angle then doing his business, but his continuation will give me the leverage to go on with the goals I set for this half of the year. So there you have the THIRD WIN.

What a brainstorm session with students brought me this week.

What a brainstorm session with students brought me this week.

For those who not know me, I am a people minded person with a lot of passion for what I do.
What I do? Support entrepreneurs in reaching their goals and dreams in a very pragmatic way. Sometimes by being a sound board to them and sometimes by re-structure their companies (and employees)
In my spare time I like to be in front of the classroom to give different courses to students that are following a Bachelor course in Business Administration.

The last two weeks I was giving the module Knowledge Management in Utrrecht and one of the instruments for KM is brainstorming.
We had a brainstorm session with 8 students and the subject was a rather personal (involvement) one regarding a friend of mine in need for cash to finance his employees for two months to get started up with business again.

We are lightyears ahead regarding Knowledge Management

We are lightyears ahead regarding Knowledge Management

Today I gave a guest college at the school I teach regularly. It was about knowlegde management, for us here in the community the most "normal" thing to talk about and to do.
The studends here are between the ages of 18 to 23 years old, for me they are the target group regarding KM.

Well today I found out that they are not, at least not this particular group of students. Their first reaction was that is was all a bit "floaty" and that there was no structure in knowledge management.
I showed them the socialnomics clips "Do You Know" to make it a bit more touchable for them, and after those short movies and a few hours later they begun to see the benefits of KM.
Seems like we are ahead indeed here on Ecademy and that we need to shake things up even more wink

1970 a good year, do you remember?

In 1970, the world was a different place.
There was no Google yet. Or Yahoo. Or Stumbleupon, for that matter.
In 1970, the year of your birth, the top selling movie was Love Story. People buying the popcorn in the cinema lobby had glazing eyes when looking at the poster.

Remember, that was before there were DVDs. Heck, even before there was VHS. People were indeed watching movies in the cinema, and not downloading them online. Imagine the packed seats, the laughter, the excitement, the novelty. And mostly all of that without 3D computer effects.

Explain How Your Product or Service Benefits Customers

Hi fellow networkers from my beloved community. Benefits make the world go round.
At least that's what I believe. A product or service is useless to any customer if they not understand how it will help or benefit them in some way.
In my line of work (change management) it is often difficult to say that up front. That is because it depends on the speed of the change process that the people I work with go through.

The real benefit for my customers is more effective, responsible and happier employees, which leads to shorter and better products with lesser breakdowns which leads in the end to better and more steady profits. My benefits are the people in a company, to support them making their job more fun and more easy to do (if possible of course)

Leverage Social Media to…………

...........Capture Customer Response and Blog About It!

Blogging is a great way to connect with your customer base. Social media is yet another. The environment within the various social networking sites makes it quite easy to participate or start conversations.
If you're in need of a quick topic
- hop into Ecademy, Twitter, Facebook or one of the other networks that work for you and ask a question/post a thread.

One of 2 things will happen: the responses will be so great you can just post them directly to your blog OR someone will say something that inspires your next posting.

There you have it: another topic checked off your list. wink

Have Fun!!

What is Going Well and Not So Well?

Most of us do not really consider the daily minutia of our business to be all that fascinating. The trials and tribulations are our own, we've learned from them and have grown/adapted accordingly. I would argue that those details, both the good and the bad, show the human side of you and your business. Why not give us a peak behind the proverbial curtain? or to put it differently: Are you in balance? So, What is going well in your business and why do you think that is, and how did you get there? and What is not going so well in your business and why do you think that is, and what are you doing about it? Let us learn from your experiences, so are you ready to inspire others and willing to share with us in an open way? Commentbox is Open for your Random and Supportive shares of the peak behind YOUR curtain. Kind regards, Marco
