1970 a good year, do you remember?

In 1970, the world was a different place.
There was no Google yet. Or Yahoo. Or Stumbleupon, for that matter.
In 1970, the year of your birth, the top selling movie was Love Story. People buying the popcorn in the cinema lobby had glazing eyes when looking at the poster.

Remember, that was before there were DVDs. Heck, even before there was VHS. People were indeed watching movies in the cinema, and not downloading them online. Imagine the packed seats, the laughter, the excitement, the novelty. And mostly all of that without 3D computer effects.

Explain How Your Product or Service Benefits Customers

Hi fellow networkers from my beloved community. Benefits make the world go round.
At least that's what I believe. A product or service is useless to any customer if they not understand how it will help or benefit them in some way.
In my line of work (change management) it is often difficult to say that up front. That is because it depends on the speed of the change process that the people I work with go through.

The real benefit for my customers is more effective, responsible and happier employees, which leads to shorter and better products with lesser breakdowns which leads in the end to better and more steady profits. My benefits are the people in a company, to support them making their job more fun and more easy to do (if possible of course)

Leverage Social Media to…………

...........Capture Customer Response and Blog About It!

Blogging is a great way to connect with your customer base. Social media is yet another. The environment within the various social networking sites makes it quite easy to participate or start conversations.
If you're in need of a quick topic
- hop into Ecademy, Twitter, Facebook or one of the other networks that work for you and ask a question/post a thread.

One of 2 things will happen: the responses will be so great you can just post them directly to your blog OR someone will say something that inspires your next posting.

There you have it: another topic checked off your list. wink

Have Fun!!

Comments and tips welcome in an Open, Random and Supportive way.

Kind regards,

Marco

What is Going Well and Not So Well?

Most of us do not really consider the daily minutia of our business to be all that fascinating. The trials and tribulations are our own, we've learned from them and have grown/adapted accordingly. I would argue that those details, both the good and the bad, show the human side of you and your business. Why not give us a peak behind the proverbial curtain? or to put it differently: Are you in balance? So, What is going well in your business and why do you think that is, and how did you get there? and What is not going so well in your business and why do you think that is, and what are you doing about it? Let us learn from your experiences, so are you ready to inspire others and willing to share with us in an open way? Commentbox is Open for your Random and Supportive shares of the peak behind YOUR curtain. Kind regards, Marco

Business in the Netherlands

In curtsy of Dr. Mehmet Yildiz who was so kind to give me five ideas to blog about HERE
So here's number five of five:
Business in the Netherlands

Here some Dutch Business Etiquette and Protocols:

Building Relationships & Communication (again in general)

. Many Dutch are familiar with doing business with foreigners since the Netherlands has a long history of international trade.

. They will want to know your academic credentials and the amount of time your company has been in business.

. The business community is rather close and most senior level people know one another.

Art in the Netherlands

So here's the fourth one of five:

Art in the Netherlands

This is a difficult one to keep it short. There are all kinds of art in the Netherlands, modern art, post modern art, filming art, expressionism art etc. etc.
For those interested there is an article on WiKi HERE about the different kinds of art.

Here on ecademy we are priviledged to have two Dutch artists in our midst:

Education in the Netherlands

In curtsy of Dr. Mehmet Yildiz who was so kind to give me five ideas to blog about HERE
So here's the third one of five:
Education in the Netherlands

The Dutch education system has a long tradition and a trustworthy reputation. The laws issued in 1815 have guaranteed its quality. The Dutch education is structured in a way that the final degree can be reached by several different study routes. This means that pupils and students always have the possibility to switch from one level to another. This is a very important advantage for foreign students in the case of a difficult start.
On the picture you see the Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Culture in the Netherlands

In curtsy of Dr. Mehmet Yildiz who was so kind to give me five ideas to blog about HERE
So here's the second one of five:

Culture in the Netherlands: (in general)

Netherlands culture, Hollandic culture. The Dutch use Nederlandse cultuur and Hollandse cultuur to describe their culture. The English word "Dutch" derives from the German deutsch ("German"). "Dutch" referred originally to both Germany and the Netherlands but came to be restricted to the people and language of the Netherlands when that country became independent in the seventeenth century. "Holland" and "the Netherlands" often are used as synonyms even though "Holland" refers only to the provinces North and South Holland.

NETWALK Zondag 28 februari

Fellow Netwerkers,

Start wandeling 11:15u
Eind wandeling +/- 13.00u bij Restaurant ‘T Hoogt

Life in the Netherlands: (in general)

Life in the Netherlands: (in general)

In curtsy of Dr. Mehmet Yildiz who was so kind to give me five ideas to blog about HERE
So here's the first one of five:
Life in the Netherlands: (in general)

To keep it short and general I will answer the questions below, feel free to add your comments to it that I can blog about as well.
1. Where is the Netherlands?
The Netherlands is located in Europe right next to Belgium (below), Luxembourg (below) and Germany (on the right side) and next to the North Sea (on the left)
See the picture below:

There are about 16,5 million people living in this rather small country with its 12 provinces each with their own dialect and specialities.

2. What's the capital city of Netherlands?

Need your help: Give me five……….

Need your help: Give me five..........

This is one for You, the ecademy community.......to let me write about stuff you like.

New Product or Service? Write About It? How?

New Product or Service? Write About It? How?

Wow three questions at once.
Let me explain: For starters this topic requires something of a disclaimer.
When developing a new product or service, there may be details that you can not share just yet - either
legally or in an effort to keep your competitors away for the time being from that information.
So, consider the content of your topic carefully. If you can not actively blog about the
detailed experience of creating a new product, perhaps you can instead build anticipation for
your new product in a more general fashion.
By making people curious, provoke a bit here and there, tickle a bit. Talk about what's behind door #1 without opening the door, so to speak.

If you have any suggestions or add-ons for this topic, the commentbox is Open for your Random and Supportive remarks.

In Agreement or Disagreement……how to?

How to Post a comment to Another Blog in Agreement or Disagreement:

Here's a way for you that could support you and your visibility. The first one in the VCP triangle.

There are likely several other business owners in your niche that are blogging as well. This is not only here on ecademy but out there as well.
My tips from expirience: Read their blogs, and DO participate on their blogs. As you read those blogs, look for areas where you agree, disagree or just simply do not understand their viewpoint.

Here comes the trick: Write a response (blog) on your own blog that links back to the original article. (this is what I like to call "yanking yourself out of your comfortzone")
Make sure that you extend the conversation with your own viewpoint - do not merely re-publish of course.

Positive Cynicism. Can it be done?

Positive Cynicism: How to keep your integrity without being miserable.

Here's a long one from me, took me a while to write it.
A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a UK member. That member inspired me to write something about Cynicism. There is to much positivism made and made up here (on ecademy) where one of the things we talked about.
So in my case I mean positive cynicsism.
I believe cynicism is essential as a station on the road to enlightenment. We need our cynicism to help us see the world clearly and stay true to our principles.
But, yes there is it again, there comes a time when we have to stop grumbling and start living again. Surely there's more to life than being against.
So, what are you for?
